Nature contains the elements, in colour and form, of all pictures, as the keyboard contains the notes of all music.

I work in soft pastels, oil pastels, and oils, drawn to the quiet philosophy of American Tonalism—that tension between humans and the natural world, the way atmosphere softens a landscape into something that feels more true than a photograph. Based in the Pacific Northwest, I paint en plein air as often as possible, chasing the region's particular gray-gold light and its endless variations of mist and mountain.

I’m a classicist in every sense of the word. I'm currently studying classical painting at an atelier, because I believe the old ways of seeing still have something to teach us.

I have two cats, the oversee my work, and my other main hobby is Classical Piano.
